Compared to a standard tape measure, the Proline model is made special by its automatic Self-Lock locking system, nylon-coated blade, reinforced blade construction, and magnetic tip. One of the biggest advantages of the Proline model is the Self-Lock automatic locking. When the tape measure is pulled out, the blade automatically stays in place at the desired length – there is no need to activate a separate locking button for each measurement. To retract the blade, simply press the release button. The tape measure is also covered with a protective nylon coating, which helps increase the blade’s resistance to daily wear and abrasion. The Proline model’s blade has a stronger construction, allowing it to be extended further before it sags or breaks. This is especially useful when measuring longer distances where the end of the tape measure cannot be reached by hand.
